Mighty Father, Beloved Son, Radiant Spirit,

You are with us night and day.

You know our sorrows and our sins, our celebrations and our triumphs.

Dust we are, and to dust we shall return.

Yet you care for us each moment, and reach out to us through time.

Draw us ever closer to you this forty days, dear Lord,

So that we may be ready and fit to celebrate the holiest of days,

Resurrection Day.

Draw us from the shadows to the light, and teach us the richness of self-discipline and sacrifice.

Join us in contemplation of the greatest mystery of all, your grace.

Blessed be the name of the Lord!
