Rarely do health insurance premium rates decrease! However, we are excited to share that in some cases, depending on what tier and plan you choose, some premiums will be reduced in 2021.
Due to actual claims loss/gains experienced within various plans, the C3000 with HRA (Health Reimbursement Account) plan will see the largest increases between 2-13%, again depending upon the tier applied. Yet on the positive side, other plans like the H3000 with HSA (Health Savings Account), will reveal a monthly premium savings range of 2-5%. While we ideally would like to say that all plans remain at a minimum or no increase, we believe that this is news to be excited about, especially as we witness the volatility of the insurance industry this year due to the pandemic.
Another positive bit of news is that the premium credits for each of the tiers (Participant Only, Participant Plus One Dependent, and Family) increased by 2% this year.
The church contribution for 2021 for all full-time appointments will be $1,326.00 per month, an increase of 2% from last year. This applies to all churches with a full-time appointed pastor despite whether the pastor does or does not enroll in the INUMC HealthFlex Exchange. Please note: all full-time eligible clergy are required to be enrolled in the HealthFlex Exchange unless there is proof of other coverage and a waiver form is sent to the Conference office.
OPEN ENROLLMENT SEASON WILL BEGIN WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 28 AND END ON NOVEMBER 12, 2020.
Many more details about the enrollment process, the plan changes (if any) and election tools will be forthcoming in the next few weeks. However, should you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to the Conference office at (317) 924-1321.
