Rev. Tony Alstott has been selected as the new Chair for the Board of Ordained Ministry. He follows Russ Abel, who will become the Conference Superintendent assigned to the East District as of July 1, 2019.
According to Tony, “I am very humbled to be asked by Bishop Trimble to lead the Board of Ordained Ministry. I have served under several excellent and capable Board Chairs that have been great role models. The current leadership team is doing excellent work, and I hope to continue to provide effective leadership.”
Tony currently serves as the Chair of South District Committee on Ministry, a position he has held since 2011. Over the years, Tony has also served as the registrar of West District Committee on Ministry and the Conference Spiritual Formation Committee. He has also directed Indicoso Church/Sports Camp and has served on the Conference Nominations Committee.
An ordained elder (1996), Tony has served as a part-time local pastor for churches in Clark County, associate pastor of Greensburg, and pastor of Lizton, Brazil First, and Wesley Chapel of Floyd County.
Tony is married to Rhonda, and they have five children ranging in age from 12-30.
