Anti-Racism and Social Justice Panel Discussion to be Held on Sunday, July 19, 2020

Students of all ages are asking questions about racial justice. They are discussing with their friends and family what it means to love others at this moment in history. Many who are Christians don’t quite know how their activism and their faith work together. As ministry leaders, we can be a part of the conversation and discernment. Listen. Share your experience. Let questions come forward. Invite action. Pray together.

The Emerging Leaders team of the Indiana Conference would like to invite your students to an online panel discussion led by young people for young people on Sunday, July 19 at 8:00 p.m. EST. Our hope is to create a healthy space for meaningful conversation among Christian young people. We will recognize together the different approaches to Anti-Racism and Social Justice work that help us consider the question – What can I do now as a young person following Christ?

You can watch together as a group, share the invitation with individual young people, or spread the word via social media – whatever works for you. Individuals and groups can register for the event by e-mailing Emily Krach at emily.krach@inumc.org. You are also welcome to e-mail if you would like resources or ideas from the team about next steps for your group as they work towards Anti-Racism and Social Justice.

The Emerging Leaders team believes that Jesus calls us to be humble and courageous as we walk in our faith. We want to love others as ourselves and hope that through discussion we can be reminded of Jesus’ continuous work in our lives to help us love our neighbors.
