This week, Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb provided a revised ‘Stay at Home’ order that will last through May 1, 2020, as part of the continuing effort to slow the spread of COVID-19. The governor also announced that the state will slowly begin to re-open some businesses.

In a response by Bishop Trimble, he expressed that churches will continue to operate in accordance to the social distancing guidelines mandated in the governor’s executive order 20-18, which states that public and private gatherings must consist of ten or fewer persons practicing social distancing.

Furthermore, the bishop shared, “I want you to prepare NOT to be in worship before May 17th. If we receive updates from the governor or health professionals that we have consulted, we will let you know.”

The bishop also thanked Indiana United Methodists for their efforts to help slow the spread of the virus, as well as their cooperation during these unique and challenging times.
