After more than 24 years of service to the Indiana Conference, Erma Metzler shares the news of her upcoming retirement. Erma diligently served as Communications Assistant for three directors of communication before becoming the bishop’s administrative assistant. We are grateful for Erma’s hard work and servant’s heart.

Ed Metzler, Erma’s husband, also announced his retirement. He too has served the Conference since 1995, having served as secretary to two bishops before accepting his present role as Administrator of Leadership Development – Ministerial Services. Before his tenure with the Conference, Ed served in the Air Force for 20 years as a public affairs specialist. Ed’s fun-loving spirit and exemplary care for those he serves has made his work memorable.

We celebrate with Ed and Erma and trust that their two adult children and three grandchildren will gain much from this new chapter as we give thanks for their service and ministry. Their last day in the Conference office will be Thursday, November 22, 2019.

Also, we are pleased to announce that Darlene White will transition into the role of Executive Administrative Assistant to the Bishop and the Executive Assistant to the Bishop/Director of Connectional Ministries. The details of this transition are in progress and more information will be forthcoming very soon. Before joining the Conference Leadership Development team as a Conference assistant in 2014, Darlene worked more than 12 years as an executive administrative assistant in the hospital industry. We are excited to witness all the ways God will lead Darlene in this new role.

Job postings will be available on our website and other job boards in the upcoming days.
