Bishop Julius C. Trimble is pleased to announce the selection of Rev. Ann Thomas to serve as the Prayer Coordinator for the Indiana Conference of The United Methodist Church effective July 1, 2020. In this role, Ann will offer prayer support throughout the Indiana Conference.

“We are grateful to have Ann serve in this position,” said Bishop Trimble. “Her passion for God and prayer will be a blessing to all of us.”

Ann currently serves as the Senior Pastor at East Columbus UMC. She has been a Methodist “all my life, and a United Methodist since 1968.” Ann is excited to explore many kinds of prayer with the Conference. “There are many ways to pray, and no one right way. I want to validate any way people talk to and listen to God.”

In regards to her role as Conference Prayer Coordinator, Ann states, “I believe the heart of prayer is communing with the heart of God. I’m grateful for the chance to convey that, and to live it more fully.”

Originally from Texas, Ann resides in Columbus, Ind., with her two cats, who “rule the parsonage with an iron claw.”
