DORIS CLARK of Indianapolis, 69, Indiana Conference Lay Leader, died Sunday, January 27, 2019. Doris was a longtime member of University UMC. She was expected to serve as a delegate at the Special-Called General Conference in February.

A public visitation will be held 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Friday, February 1, St. Luke’s UMC, 100 W. 86th Street, Indianapolis. 
A Celebration of Life service will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 2, at the Church. Interment will follow at Crown Hill Funeral Home, 700 38th Street, Indianapolis, IN. Funeral service information is currently available on the Crown Hill Funeral Home website. An obituary will be made available at a later time. A time of gathering and fellowship will take place at University UMC, following interment. 

Appointed Conference Lay Leader in 2014, Doris served on several boards, including Board of Ordained Ministry (BOOM) and General Commission on Religion and Race. She had a heart for serving the youth and led mission opportunities around and outside the US.

Doris played an active role in the focus of Leadership Development, as well as the Indiana Conference to discover, develop, and deploy fruitful leaders throughout Indiana and believed that the Church is at its best when lay and clergy work in partnership.

Doris is survived by her husband Stant Clark, President of Indiana Conference United Methodist Men and son, Anthony Clark, of Indianapolis.
