WILLIAM “BILL” H. HARDACRE of Anderson, Ind., 82, prominent member of First United Methodist Church in Anderson and community leader, died Sunday, May 11, 2014. Visitation will be held from 1 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 14, at the Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service, 229 S. Rangeline Road in Anderson and from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Thursday, May 15, at First United Methodist Church, 1215 Jackson Street in downtown Anderson. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. the same day at the church with the Rev. Jeff Taylor officiating. Hardacre was an active member of the Anderson First UMC, where he was lay leader for 21 years and during this time also served as delegate to the district conference, as well as district lay leader and leader in the former Indiana Central Conference. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Ann (Harmeson) Hardacre; a brother, Jerry (Carol) Hardacre of Anderson; stepmother, Martha Hardacre of Anderson; two stepbrothers and a stepsister, Halford McLaughlin of Anderson, Jim (Sherry) McLaughlin of Noblesville, and Charlotte (Cliff) Baker of North Carolina; sister-in-law, Ida Mae Harmeson of Melbourne, Fla.
