JAMES WILLIAM KEITH, SR., of Franklin, Ind., retired Elder of the Indiana Conference and father of the Rev. James William (Bill) Keith, Jr., senior pastor of St. Mark’s UMC in Carmel, died Friday, March 29, 2013. Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 2 from 9 to 11 a.m. at Grace United Methodist Church, 1300 East Adams Drive, Franklin, Ind. A memorial service will be held at the church at 11 a.m. the same day. Survivors include: his son, the Rev. J. William Keith, Jr., of Westfield; his daughter, Carolyn Keith Burr (David G. Lewis) of North Caldwell, N.J.; grandchildren, Matthew K. Burr of Red Hook, N.Y., Amanda J. Burr of Brooklyn, N.Y., and his sister Mary K. Price of Louisville, Ky. He served United Methodist Churches in Indiana at Lanesville, New Albany Calvary, Huntingsburg, Bloomington Fairview, Columbus First, Indianapolis Irvington and also served as a superintendent of the former Evansville and New Albany districts. In retirement, he served Jollity UMC and in Florida at Largo First and Largo St. Paul UMCs.
