OSA EDWARD PATRICK, 89, retired United Elder of the Indiana Conference, died Thursday, Dec. 23, 2010 in Jasper, Ga. Visitation will be from 4 to 5 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 27 at Logan’s Funeral Home, 357 Dalton Street in Ellijay, GA. 30540-3107. A memorial service will be held at the funeral home at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 28. Burial will be at Gates Chapel United Methodist Church immediately following the service. Survivors include: his wife of 65 years, Lillie Mae (Richert) Patrick of Jasper, Ga., formerly of Ellijay, Ga. and New Albany, Ind.; three children Donald E. (wife Vicki) Patrick of Ellijay, Ga., Linda S. (husband John) Turner of Brownsburg, Ind. and Rebekah M. Shirey of Indianapolis; nine grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. He graduated from Asbury College in Wilmore, Ky. (B.A., 1959) and Emory University Candler School of Theology in Atlanta, Ga. (M.Div.). He served many churches in southern Indiana and also in or near Ellijay, Ga. He was affiliated with Gates Chapel UMC in Ellijay, Ga., at the time of his death, a church he served as pastor in the early 1960s. Memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
