We need your support for the luggage drive benefitting Indiana’s Department of Child Services. Carly Wood and Sarah Chatt, psychology graduate students at Spalding University, are leading this initiative with the support of Dr. Norah Chapman to obtain luggage for children in Indiana’s foster care system. We are invested in supporting children who are taken from their family of origins into foster care via Child Protective Services. As you may already know, these children are often given black garbage bags to move their belongings from their home and around to various foster care settings. For this reason, we created the luggage drive to donate to children in the Southern Indiana area who could use luggage in this process to redeem dignity and hopefully allow them to experience less fear and shame surrounding their entrance into the foster care system. We are looking for new or gently used suitcases, backpacks, tote bags, or duffle bags. If you are interested in making a donation or would like more information, please contact Carly Wood at cwood02@spalding.edu or Sarah Chatt at schatt@spalding.edu. Thank you!
