Director of Next Generation Ministries

Reports to: Senior Pastor
Hours: Part-time (15 hours weekly; $20 per hour)
Benefits: No health benefits; Paid vacation days
Salary: $15,600 annually

PURPOSE: Build young disciples for Jesus Christ by developing and implementing children
and youth ministry (in the areas of group building, worship, discipleship, mission, and outreach)
while serving as a spiritual leader and role model.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
 Represent the face of Christ to the community and church.
 Develop a planning team for ministry support and insight.
 Receive trainings as appropriate and available.
 Plan and execute children’s programing which includes Sunday mornings (current),
Wednesday nights (current), Confirmation and special events.
 Recruit volunteers for children and youth ministry activities and events; equip with
Safe Sanctuary trainings which includes background checks.
 Attend Sunday mornings (weekly), Church Council (quarterly), planning team
meetings, regular meeting with supervising Pastor, appropriate community activities.

EDUCATION: Some experience in child development or children’s education; this could be
some college (not necessarily a degree) or other experience or training.

EXPERIENCE: Previous experience in developing community relationships with youth and
adults helpful.

PERSONALITY: Outgoing, personable, flexible, Christian, creative, organized, and efficient
are some of the qualities that are being sought for this position.
