Coaching in Discipleship

Intentional Discipleship Group Coaching

Register for a Coaching Cohort
Group coaching cohorts will be focused on the six dimensions of intentional discipleship. The cohorts of 5-8 members will meet every other week for 6 sessions. We will focus both on personal practice and leading congregations in the discipleship practices as well as other relevant aspects of the discipleship practices that may emerge.

Coaching cohorts are not workshops or seminars. While some content will be introduced throughout the coaching cohorts the primary purpose is to immediately implement the discipleship dimensions in personal practice and within the local ministry context. Participants should be prepared to give attention to the discipleship practices between sessions. Learning and growth takes place through practice and reflection.

For more information about the intentional discipleship framework visitĀ www.inumc.org/discipleship. For other questions please contact R.C. Muhlbaier atĀ robert.muhlbaier@inumc.org.

Discipleship Pathway

The Indiana Conference is has been developing a network of trained coaches who can serve as resource for clergy and laity within the conference. Coaches come alongside individuals and teams to help them achieve the goals they have set for themselves.Ā  The coaches listed below have all been trained in accredited coach training programs and are specifically interested in coaching clergy and lay leadership in the area of discipleship. Mission, vision, knowledge, and experience all come together in a coaching experience. A coaching relationship is always client driven. The coach helps to unlock and focus the expertise the client already possesses and provides accountability for moving forward toward achieving the client’s goals. Coaching is an extraordinary resource for developing and implementing a discipleship pathway or a specific areas of support for growing disciples. Contact a coach to learn more about coaching and how it will benefit your ministry or personal spiritual development.

Are you struggling to reach your goals? If so, maybe you’ve lost focus on the things that matter most. It is tough to stay focused today. It is so easy to get off track. Losing focus on the things that matter can leave you feeling confused and distracted. With decades of leading organizations, I understand how hard it is to stay focused on things that help you find fulfillment. As a coach, I help people and organizations get focused, and stay focused on the things that matter most.

I hold a Bachelor’s Degree from Ball State University, and a Master’s Degree from Asbury Seminary. I was ordained an Elder in the Indiana Conference UMC in 2010 after nearly 20 years in manufacturing management. I began my coach training with CTFL in January of 2018, and have been coaching ever since. I was awarded my Associate Certified Coach (ACC) credential in December of 2020.

My areas of focus include: Congregational Development, Leadership Development, Simplified Governance Structure, Intentional Discipleship, Church Planting, SLI Leadership Incubator, and Recovery.

I am convinced there are many ways I can be helpful to you or your organization. Are you ready to get focused? Are you ready to overcome confusion and distraction? Are you ready to find fulfillment and purpose? If so, let’s talk today…
