
INDIANAPOLIS – Alex Shanks, Regional Organizer for the North Central Jurisdiction of the Reconciling Ministries Network within The United Methodist Church, has served in local United Methodist churches in the West Ohio Annual Conference, as a nationally renowned spoken word poet and as a faith organizer for Why Marriage Matters Ohio (a campaign to achieve marriage equality for same-gender couples). He currently serves as Project and Field Director for Equality Ohio where he authored a faith training series called “Becoming Faithfully Inclusive,” and as co-host for the podcast We Are Compatible. Alex brings his passion for justice, advocacy, learning, and teaching to support reconciling and affirming United Methodists as they remain committed to their call.
Conference registration and dinner reservations are open from now to the Friday, May 23 deadline. The Reconciling Ministries Network of Indiana Dinner reservations can only be made on the conference website page at inumc.wpengine.com/ac18 and click on the registration button that fits you. The dinner is listed on the registration form by scrolling down. If you are not a member of the Indiana Annual Conference, please register as a “guest” and pay $35 for each dinner reservation online with a check or credit card.
There is no charge for a guest to register for the conference. Only conference members are required to pay a fee for the conference. Dinner tickets will NOT be available at the session. Come hear Alan Shanks and share dinner at the Convention Center with RMN supporters from across Indiana. Bring a friend, too. More than 70 people participated in the 2017 RMN-Indiana Dinner.
