Disaster Response: South Bend Needs YouOur Indiana Conference Disaster Response Team has been immersed in recovery and relief efforts in South Bend for the past weeks and they are still connecting with the people of South Bend to continue the work necessary to move forward. However, the needs are great and more hands are needed. The area is in great need of trained Early Response Teams and trainings are being facilitated for volunteer teams that are interested in being certified. Trainings and home base for ERTs responding to the needs in this area have been established at Clay United Methodist Church, 17646 Cleveland Road, South Bend, IN 46635. Overnight housing is available at Clay UMC with prior arrangements. Also, remember NO ONE under 18 years old may serve on an Early Response Team. Kokomo InformationCompleted cleaning buckets are now being collected at Kokomo St. Luke’s United Methodist Church, 700 E. Southway Blvd, Kokomo IN 46902, during office hours of 8:30am-3:30pm, Monday through Friday. Cleaning buckets will be used for immediate needs in the Kokomo area. Remaining buckets will be sent to Midwest Mission Distribution Center. Collection will run now through Monday, September 19. The cleaning bucket supply list can be found here. |
