INDIANAPOLIS – Bishop Michael J. Coyner announced today Ian Hall will lead as the new Director of Administration and Financial Ministries for the Indiana Conference of The United Methodist Church. Hall has served in various leadership roles in the Conference since 2001 and most recently was the Associate Director of Financial Services. Hall brings with him a wealth of knowledge and keen understanding in nonprofit management along with a deep appreciation for The United Methodist Church.
"I am pleased with the decision of the Search Committee to name Ian Hall as our new Director of Administration and Financial Ministries,” said Coyner. “We have seen Ian's excellent work and leadership skills during this time of transition, as well as during his many years of working for the former South Indiana and now Indiana Conference. He is respected by the Conference staff, Extended Cabinet, and his local church where he and his family are active lay members. Ian will help us transition into this new director position, and he will do so with skill and caring."
The Search Committee reviewed 23 viable candidates from across the nation in a thorough selection process and invited two finalists for an in-person interview. The committee felt strongly that Ian is the right person for this new role and will be a strong addition to the Extended Cabinet.
“I can’t imagine a more exciting time to transition into this new role,” Hall said. “The Indiana Conference has vast potential and many great opportunities ahead, and I look forward to unifying our administrative and financial areas to streamline services to allow a greater focus on our mission and ministry.”
In this new role, Hall will lead the Indiana Conference’s financial management, administrative, and human resources functions as well as serve as the Conference Treasurer.
Hall is a graduate of Sheffield Hallam University in South Yorkshire, England, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Management and Outdoor Recreation Management.
He moved to Indiana in 2001 to serve as the Marketing Director of the former South Indiana Conference Outdoor Ministries program. Hall and his wife, Laura, live in Bloomington, where they are members of St. Paul United Methodist Church. The couple has two sons, Elliot, 7, and Nolan, 4.
Brent Williams, Director of Administrative Services, will remain on staff and will continue to shepherd, alongside Hall, the area of administration as a multi-phased plan is set to combine both departments in a holistic manner.
