INDIANAPOLIS – Natalie Macy, Associate Director of Leadership Development – Laity announced, Wednesday, July 18, 2018, her resignation and transition from the Conference staff to celebrate a new opportunity with her husband, Brenden.

The statement shared with Conference Staff members is as follows:

We are sad to announce that Natalie Macy, our Associate Director of Leadership Development – Laity, will be leaving the Conference Staff, effective August 10, 2018, and will begin a new exciting part of her journey.

"At times we may be frustrated to hear God say, “wait,” or other times we may be caught off guard by the swiftness of God’s movement in a given situation. For me, the latter has been the way that God chose to call my husband and me into the next season of our lives. So it is with great joy and also sadness that I announce my last day with the Indiana Conference of the United Methodist Church will be on August 10, 2018," said Macy.

In brief, her husband, Brenden, was offered an opportunity in Colorado; and for that blessing, we celebrate with Natalie as they move forward.

Macy continued, "my husband, Brenden, was offered a job in Colorado two weeks before Annual Conference 2018. Doors began opening for both of us in ways that only God could. Through much prayer and consideration, we felt that to turn down this opportunity would be in direct disobedience to what God was clearly directing us to do."

Natalie has served with the Leadership Development team for a year, and in that time, she brought new insights, creativity, spirit, and heart for the ministry of the laity and most importantly the Church.

Macy also shared "throughout my time at the Conference, I have grown in ways that I never thought possible. I owe that to the incredible leadership of Dr. Aleze Fulbright, Emily Krach, Doris Clark, Kim Arnott, Matthew Leffler, Ed Metzler, and Darlene White. Without this support system, I would have been lost navigating the ins and outs of the Conference experience and in my strive to assist the Laity in our Conference."

"INUMC will forever be a favorite part of my career experience because of the people located in the Conference Center and all of those diligently working in communities throughout the state of Indiana," said Macy.

The Extended Cabinet offered gratitude for Natalie's good work and expressed that she will be missed as part of the Conference Staff.

Please join us in praying for continued blessings for her and her husband’s future endeavors.

A transition plan will be available in the coming days from the Rev. Shannon Stringer, Director of Leadership Development, and the Leadership Development team.
