Invites Community to The Great Organ Spook-tacular
PLAINFIELD, IND – October 1, 2017 –
Pipe Organ Concert: Saturday, October 28, 6:00 p.m.
The Plainfield United Methodist Church Concert Series, a community arts program presented by Plainfield United Methodist Church, will next feature a family-friendly Halloween concert on Saturday, October 28, 6:00 p.m. The event is free and all are welcome, there are no tickets.
With the church’s recent completion of a new pipe organ installation that includes more than 2,000 pipes, the October concert is titled “The Great Organ Spook-tacular” and features the music of a spooky and seasonal nature performed on the new pipe organ. The program includes music from Harry Potter, the smash Broadway hit Wicked, plus music from The Phantom of the Opera, The Wizard of Oz and much more.
“This will showcase the pipe organ – such a unique instrument already – in an entirely new light,” states Director of Music and Organist Michael Pettry. “A family-friendly concert featuring spooky and entertaining music is the perfect opportunity to throw-open our doors and welcome the community for an evening of music and celebration.”
The concert follows immediately after the church’s Trunk or Treat event in the East parking lot. Children are invited to dress in costume and trick-or-treat in the parking lot before bringing the entire family into the church for the kid- and family-friendly concert at 6:00 p.m. Trunk-or-Treat activities also include a bounce house, games, and door prizes.
The 75-minute concert will include various performers in costume, and special effects to captivate all audiences. Ample parking is available, and the church is located at 600 Simmons Street, Plainfield, IN, 46168. For more information visit pumc.org or 317.839.2319.
