Rev. Dr. Cindy Reynolds, Executive Assistant to the Bishop & Director of Connectional Ministries, has announced the Rev. Paul Wagner to serve as the Assistant to Director of Connectional Ministries effective July 1. 

The newly developed role of Assistant to Director of Connectional Ministries is a part-time position that provides leadership and oversight to the Connectional Ministries teams, Rules and Structure, Committee on Nominations, Archives and History, and a connection to our institutional ministries. In this role, Wagner will also serve as the Parliamentarian for the Annual Conference, and the Committee on Nominations. 

“We are so much more powerful as the people of God when we unite our resources, knowledge and passion in ministry together.” Wagner continued, “In this new role there is great opportunity for the Holy Spirit to further those wonderful ministry connections between churches, our Conference structures, and our institutions.”

A native of central Indiana, Wagner has served for 25 years in Indiana Methodism in various capacities including serving on the Board of Ordained Ministry and District Committees for 16 years, as lead planner of the Worship Service of Commissioning and Ordination at Annual Conference, and as District Youth Director.  Most recently, Wagner served as the pastor of First United Methodist Church in Vincennes. Along with this new role, Wagner will serve as the pastor of Edgewood UMC in Indianapolis. Wagner was ordained a Deacon in 1991 and Elder in 1993. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Church History, giving him valued insight and interest in collaborating with Archives and History in this role, along with a Masters of Divinity from Garrett Evangelical Theological Seminary.
