11 For lo, the winter is past,
The rain is over and gone.
12 The flowers appear on the earth;
The time of singing has come,
And the voice of the turtledove
Is heard in our land.
Song of Songs 2:11-12 NKJV
Loving and Caring Lord God
It truly feels like the long winter of COVID is over and gone,
Though like the winter, we know it may return.
Thank you for carrying us through this difficult time –
A time of illness and death;
A time of loss and mourning;
A time of fear and isolation;
A time of change and adaptation.
Thank you for walking with us step by step as we struggled to survive and adapt.
Thank you for assuring us that those we have lost have found a home with Jesus.
Thank you for guiding those who strove to develop and distribute the vaccines
That made the current springtime and summer possible.
We rejoice in you, Healer God, and we rejoice in this time of reprieve.
Stay with us as we walk into the future, unsure of anything but you.
Lead us to care for one another and for our neighbors, as Jesus taught.
Turn us always to you, for in life and in death, in sickness and in health,
You are God.
Thank you.
Amen.
